Upon arrival to Denpasar Airport, you can either rent a car (with a driver) or be adventurous by taking the local minibus. If you opt for the local option, head directly to Terminal Ubung (Ubung Station) about half an hour away from Denpasar city center, where you can catch a minibus to Gilimanuk Island. The minibus ride cost less than $4 and it will take around 3 – 4 hours away with amazing view of rural Bali and coastlines on the journey. However do note that the minibus comes with the price of small designed economy chairs that are often packed with locals trying to reach the Gilimanuk port to cross to the Java Island or West Bali residents carrying their land stocks to be sold at the markets. True local experience!
